Born on July 8, 1906, Philip Johnson is an American architect best known for his collaborations with John Burgee and Mies Van der Rohe. Johnson’s noteworthy achievements include: founding the Department of Architecture and Design at MOMA, designing the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA, and construction of the Glass House in New Canaan, CT.
